Mozart-Pantomime

Mozart-Pantomiimi

This modern-day Mozart Pantomime had its premiere at the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival in 2007. Mozart and his friends however premiered the piece at a carnival at the Imperial Palace of Vienna in 1783. The original assembly of the musicians remains unknown and only the notes for the first violin have been restored to our days. Vladimir Mendelssohn has reconstructed and completed the whole composition according to this small musical extract. In the choreographic staging you will see all the central characters of commedia dell’arte – from Harlequin to Columbine – and the spoken lines have been replaced by mime.

“The choreography is playful and frisky in true commedia dell’arte style” SSS
