Dance Theatre ERI is well known for its bold and interdisciplinary repertoire. ERI was founded in 1989 by Tiina Lindfors, Eeva Soini and Lassi Sairela. From the beginning, we have created original and impressive theatre, accessible to as wide an audience as possible.
Our beautiful and intimate theatre space is located on Yliopistonkatu 7. Besides its usual repertoire, ERI also performs commissioned works at different locations in Finland.
We work in close collaboration with a variety of schools, educational institutions, retirement homes and sheltered housing. We participate in many projects and perform on international stages.
We are an ambitious, professional theatre company whose purpose is to stir emotions and provoke ideas. Without forgetting to be humorous.
The touching stories we tell hit home in our intimate space, and joy and affection can be felt both on stage and in the auditorium. We are energised by you our audience, and in return we tell stories that resonate with both your heart and your soul.
Welcome to Dance Theatre ERI. We are glad that you are here.
The continental rythm orchestra Aninkaisten Sävel and ERI’s ensemble take the audience on a time travel. With the help of catchy tunes and dances of the 1920’s and 1930’s we are led into the ballroom. The 14 musicians of Aninkaisten Sävel will, both separately and together with the dancers from ERI, captivate the audience with moving, cheerful and even melancholy small stories. The dance styles vary from charleston to fox and jazz.

Performances 14 January–26 February 2026
Passio returns to our repertoire as part of the 750th anniversary of the Diocese of Turku.
Approximately 5 minutes after each performance, the choreographer briefly shares with the audience the artistic choices made in creating the work. Audience members who remain are also welcome to participate in the discussion with questions and comments.
The work Passio portrays the Easter passion drama with powerful strokes. After the prologue, the story itself begins at the Last Supper, where Jesus is present as a light. Thereafter, his figure shifts from one dancer to another, and both women and men carry the mantle of Jesus. Passio takes a stand on inclusion and exclusion. The work asks what is eternal, and what sustains us in life.
Passio was originally part of Turku’s European Capital of Culture year in 2011 and was then performed in Turku Cathedral. Choreographer Lindfors received the Church’s Culture Prize for the work the same year. As the cathedral is now closed, the piece will be performed on ERI’s stage. The intimate theatre space brings the story close to the audience, and the lighting strongly emphasizes the drama.
